Background
Working with the NHS since 2004 in mental health, medical records, and prescription drugs, having gained experience working with numerous charities that provide emotional support for individual needs whilst holding managerial leadership roles.
I have supported people suffering from grief, homicide, domestic abuse, families, and couples-related issues,
The main modalities I follow in my techniques would be Client-Centred Therapy, Directive Counselling and Transactional Analysis (TA). However, there are many types which can be discussed, such as CBT including Couples and Family Therapy.
Four key methods used in my approach to counselling:
1. Using unconditional positive regard–Unconditional acceptance.
2. Having empathic understanding–From the client’s perspective.
3. Expressing congruence–Honest and genuine approach.
4. Raising questions–Challenges the client to express themselves.
